Racine Raiders rookie wide receiver Joe Garcia III earned three MidStates Football League (MSFL) season awards. Garcia was named Rookie of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, and Offensive Player of the Year. The awards were announced shortly before the league’s championship game on Saturday.

Garcia led the league in receptions and receiving yards and was tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns. He also led the league in kick return and punt return yards, including a 76-yard punt return touchdown in overtime to beat the Lincoln-Way Patriots on the road on August 14.

Garcia was named an MSFL all-star earlier this month. Garcia had a standout prep career for Horlick High School and was named the All-Racine County High School Football Player of the Year in 2017. Garcia played then played at Highland Community College in Kansas.

Garcia will participate in an all-star game scheduled between the MSFL and the Northern Lights Football League. The game will be played October 9, at Historic Horlick Athletic Field. A time hasn’t been set for the game.
