RACINE, Wis. — The Racine Raiders kicked off the home portion of their 2026 campaign in impressive fashion Saturday night at Historic Horlick Field, using a balanced offensive attack and a swarming defense to secure a decisive victory over the Midwest Vengeance.

The Raiders established rhythm early with a mix of efficient passing and downhill running, consistently moving the chains and winning the field-position battle. Their opening drives showcased poise and tempo, as the offense capitalized on short fields and sustained possessions to build an early lead.
The Vengeance showed brief flashes of resistance, but Racine’s defense quickly adjusted. The Raiders’ front seven controlled the line of scrimmage, limiting Midwest’s ground attack and forcing the Vengeance into uncomfortable passing situations. That pressure led to multiple stalled drives, with Racine’s secondary opportunistic in coverage and quick to close on the football.

A big part of the problem for the Vengeance was a short bench. Despite being shorthanded, they mounted a good drive in the second half but it was stopped by an interception by Wyatt Savarino.
Racine will look to carry that momentum into the weeks ahead as the schedule stiffens, but if the opener is any indication, the Raiders appear poised for another strong season. The Raiders have outscored their opponents 113-0 through two games this season. The Raiders will receive a 7-0 forfeit win over the Midwest (WI) Warriors in a road game originally scheduled for next week. The Raiders next game is a home game on Saturday, May 23rd, against the Midwest Vengeance. Kick off is scheduled for 6 pm CT.
