Recap

The Racine Raiders first opponent after taking a year off isn’t going to allow the players or coaches to ease back into football. The Columbus Fire were the 2018 and 2019 United States Football Association AAA National Champions. Add a National Football Event National Championship in 2016 and the Fire have claimed three national titles in five years. The problem for both teams is the long layoff.

The Fire last played in August 2019 while the Raiders lost to the Detroit Ravens back on November 3, 2019, the last time they took to the field. For the Raiders, it’ll be 572 days between games. Can these two perennial powerhouses quickly shake off the rust of a nearly two-year hiatus? They’ll have to or risk being on the outside looking in according to national ranking services after their first game of the season.

The Raiders are teaming up with United Commercial Travelers and will once again be giving away a bike to one lucky girl and one lucky boy that completes R.J.’s Scavenger Hunt. As always, all active duty and reserve military personnel and veterans receive free admission to the game with proper identification. A Color/Honor Guard will display the Colors for the National Anthem.

The City of Racine has lifted the mask mandate. We encourage all fans to practice health safety measures consistent with CDC and local guidelines and to meet their personal needs. We encourage unvaccinated individuals to wear a mask in large gatherings, per CDC guidance.

The Raiders will carry the stream on the Racine Raiders broadcast network at https://youtu.be/U5tjwaFvIh4 and on AM 1680 in the Racine area.  The stream is a professional quality stream with three cameras and both the stream and radio will have two-to-three commentators.
