Forchette played prep football at Kenosha St. Joseph where he was a halfback and linebacker. In his senior year, Forchette was named to the All-Catholic Conference Team. He played collegiately at UW-Stevens Point. In 1975, Forchette lived in Kenosha and worked at Kenosha Packing. He was married to Rosann and had one son, John.
