Micech played with the Racine Raiders from 1985-1995 and came back for another run from 1998-2000. He was a part of four national championship teams. He was named the defensive most valuable player in the Midwest Football League in 1987.
Micech was a two-time All-WIAC defensive linemen at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, earning those honors in 1981 and 1982. He would eventually return to be an assistant coach and earned WIAC Assistant Coach of the Year in 2010.
Micech signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings in 1987 during the strike and played in all three games for the team. He played indoor football, scoring the first points in Arena Football League history, recording a safety.
Micech was inducted into the American Football Association’s Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Racine Raiders Hall of Fame in 2005.
