The Racine Raiders Football Club has received word that the National Bowl Series Events (NBSE) has canceled the November 21, 2026, national championship game.

While the news is disappointing, the Raiders are taking the moment to celebrate a remarkable season and thank the community that made it possible, while looking ahead for an opportunity to play for a historic 12th national title.

A Season Worth Celebrating

One of the Raiders’ longstanding goals is to give players the chance to compete against the best teams in the country on a national stage, and to bring another championship home to Racine. This fall, the Raiders took a big step toward that goal by competing in the NBSE Midwest championship game in October and bringing in an all-star team for postseason competition.

The organization expressed sincere appreciation to NBSE for that opportunity and for its work to establish a tournament-style postseason that brings top teams together to compete for a national title while challenging the status quo.

Why the Game Was Canceled

NBSE worked to arrange a championship matchup in either Orlando, Fla., or Racine, but was unable to secure an opponent willing and able to participate in either location. The Raiders recognize the challenges involved in coordinating events of this scale and don’t view the outcome as a reflection of NBSE’s effort or commitment. The club remains hopeful that another opportunity with the NBSE will present itself next fall as we both look to improve the culture of this level of football.

Still Chasing Number 12

The Raiders’ Board of Directors is continuing to explore other avenues for national championship competition. The 2026 roster is an exceptional group of athletes, coaches, and dedicated individuals who have earned the opportunity to test themselves against the nation’s finest teams, and the organization firmly believes this squad deserves a shot at what would be the club’s historic 12th National Championship.

Thank You, Raiders Nation

Above all, the Raiders want to thank the people who make this organization what it is: the loyal fans, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who show up season after season.

From the stands at Historic Horlick Athletic Field to road trips hundreds of miles from home, and through every fundraiser that helps keep this program running, Raiders’ supporters have shown up in a big way. That support is one of the greatest strengths of this organization, and it never goes unnoticed and is the envy of every team at this level.

While the cancellation is a setback, the Raiders’ commitment to excellence and to pursuing championship opportunities remains unchanged. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

Thank you for standing with the Racine Raiders. Stay tuned!
