The Racine Raiders are teaming up with D.W. Davies for Education Appreciation Night to kick off the Raiders 2023 season on May 13. The Raiders will host the Baltimore Lightning in a Gridiron Developmental Football League game at 7 pm at Historic Horlick Athletic Field in Racine. The Raiders are offering an opportunity for the Racine high schools located East of Interstate 94 to win a $500 unrestricted gift for their school through a digital ticket sales competition.
It’s easy for schools to participate. Just ask fans and supporters to purchase their tickets to the May 13 game online through our online ticketing platform. The fan simply selects the ticket types associated with the high school they wish to support and when they purchase the online ticket, that high school will receive credit for the number of online tickets purchased. The Raiders will announce the winning school between the third and fourth quarters of the May 13 Education Appreciation Night game and that school will receive a $500 unrestricted donation courtesy of the Racine Raiders and D.W. Davies.
The Raiders will also honor their four Racine Raiders scholarship recipients at halftime of the game. Seniors graduating from any Racine County high school can apply for a $500 scholarship until April 28, 2023.
The Raiders have several other promotions. Fans that purchase their tickets online will be entered for a chance to win a free pizza from The Dish Restaurant in Racine. When the Raiders score their first points of the game, one lucky fan that bought a ticket online will receive a free pizza. Jersey Mike’s Subs is offering the first 50 adult fans through the gate a free sub at one of several Southeastern Wisconsin locations. United Commercial Travelers (UCT) is once again sponsoring the youth bike giveaway. One boy and one girl that participate in the R.J. Raider Scavenger Hunt will win a bike courtesy of UCT. Two children will be selected to participate in the Domino’s Pizza Halftime Football Toss for a chance to win free pizza from Domino’s Pizza.
Several fun activities for kids return to Historic Horlick Athletic Field for the 2023 season as well. Level Up Racine (formerly Gamestersbay) and Getoffthestreets.org return with the video game tent. The Georgie Porgie’s R.J.’s Kids Area returns with activities for all ages as well.
