The Racine Raiders are launching the WE ARE RACINE community organization area at this week’s home opener at Historic Horlick Athletic Field against the Baltimore Lightning. The Raiders are teaming up with other community organizations that are making a positive change in Racine to provide interactive activities and showcase the positive contributions being made by people.

“The Racine Raiders have always looked at how we can magnify and multiply the good in our community as ‘Your Hometown Team’ in Racine,” said Vice President of Marketing Don Wadewitz. “This is one small way we can help other community organizations like ourselves highlight their positive value to the Racine community.”

The idea came from Racine Raiders board member Ivette Camarano who also runs getoffthestreets.org. Getoffthestreets.org began working with the Raiders last year on the video gaming tent which is co-sponsored by Level Up Racine, another venture by Camarano, who is a committed community organizer in Racine. Getoffthestreets.org mission is to bring gaming and activities out into the community.

Some organizations have committed to having a space for the entire season while others will be present for a limited number of Saturday night games this Spring and Summer. Organizations that have committed to appear include:

  • Racine Video Production Workshop
  • Racine Public Library
  • Racine Unified School District Intro to Esports program
  • Brose Be Cuttin’ It Up Hair Cuts for Grades
  • Level Up Racine and Getoffthestreets.org
  • Racine Theater Guild

The Racine Raiders provide the space for free. The organizations provide their own tent, tables, and chairs and get to determine what interactive activity they will feature at their area to raise awareness of their organization and what it does in the community. The Raiders request that organizations publicly share on their social media platforms that they will be at the Racine Raiders game in the week leading up to any appearance in the WE ARE RACINE area by the organization.

Space is still available this season. Any community organization that is interested in having space should email marketing@racineraiders.org with their proposal or for more information. Organizations can also contact Camarano directly at (224) 735-6410.
