Buc-ee RaiderThe Racine Raiders and Buc-ee’s reached a historic naming rights agreement. As part of the agreement, the Raiders will take on the nickname “Buc-ee’s” to commemorate the chain opening a location in Southeastern Wisconsin. Beginning with the 2026 season, the team will become the Racine Buc-ee’s.

“Buc-ee’s wants to make a huge splash in this market,” said board president Matt Nelson. “We were willing partners to help guarantee the long-term success of our organization.”

The Raiders first approached Kwik Trip with a deal that would’ve seen the team renamed the Racine Glazers. Ultimately, Kwik Trip passed on the opportunity, leaving a chance for Buc-ee’s to jump in and steal away a unique opportunity.

While many minor league sports teams have adopted special nights where the team transforms their nickname and imaging for one night, this is believed to be the first agreement where a team has entered into a multi-year agreement to change their name and imaging.

“It’s definitely ‘out there’ in thought,” said Nelson. “However, minor league sports has always been about being on the cutting edge and trying new and different things.”

R.J. Raider will continue to be a mascot for the team but will change his name to Buc-ee Raider and have some modification made to his appearance to better represent the partnership.
